100 DAYS EXPLORING W.EUROPE

PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES

BLACK & WHITE

A continent of pivotal history meeting post-modernism. What an exquisite place of culture, food, art and design, and most of all history. A place I have always wanted to visit, but thought I would never have the opportunity. I am beyond blessed to have been allowed to visit. Spending 100 days in a place may seem like a decent amount of time, but to fully experience what Europe has to offer would require years.

The journey began with a flight from Sao Paulo, Brasil to Helsinki, Finland for a 15-hour layover. After the layover came France. I visited several cities in France. I traveled from Paris to Marseille, then to Marseille, Nice, Monaco, Montbeliard, Belfort and many more. During my stay in Montbeliard, I had the opportunity to visit Biel/Bienne, Basel, and Zurich, Switzerland. I took a train from Montbeliard to Essen, Germany. Then took a risk for a job opportunity in Mykonos, Greece, which didn’t work out, so I returned to Montbeliard. I then spent a week in London and happened to be there the same time Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations were happening. My final days were spent in Paris.

This journey has been a test of my faith and has taught me a lot about myself, photography, and life. It has been some of the toughest moments in my life, but some of the greatest moments experienced. I have begun to take risks, become more patient, learn to love others like Jesus, accept failure, and understand that failure is a blessing. Through all of it I found confidence in myself. I know it will always be a learning journey about photography, life, and faith, but this has been the most rewarding journey.

These photographs represent where I’m at with photography. A constant hobby of mastering. Life is a precious thing - what better way to appreciate it than by freezing a moment? I struggle with being in the present, but reflecting on photos I have taken reminds me of how beautiful life can be.
